Keep safe when you're collecting purchased goods


#TogetherforBedfordshire What precautions do you take if you’re picking up an item you’re buying online?

We’ve had a couple of reports recently of incidents in which people were robbed as they went to collect items.

If you’ve got concerns about sharing your home address you might want to suggest meeting in a public place. If you can, invite a friend or family member to accompany you.

If that’s not possible inform a trusted person about the time and location of the meeting.

More generally, it’s sensible not to have valuable jewellery or expensive phones on open display. 

While you are out, be aware of your surroundings, try not to use your phone. It’s easy to get distracted.
