CCTV image released in missing man inquiry

Sent of behalf of Cambridgeshire Police as Darren may have been in the Willington area.

Cambridgeshire Police have released an image of the last known sighting of a missing man as they continue extensive searches to find him.

Darren Willis, 53, was reported missing from his home in Duck Lane, St Neots, on the morning of 9 June and officers are concerned for his welfare.

There have been unconfirmed sightings of Darren and searches have covered the St Neots area with the support of local search and rescue organisations including Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CamSAR) and Midshires Search and Rescue, covering Bedfordshire.

The focus has been on green spaces and areas of open water and officers have used drones and specialist sonar equipment.

Two unconfirmed sightings were in the Willington area of Bedfordshire and officers are currently speaking to local people and checking CCTV.

Darren is described as white, 6’1”, with short brown hair, medium build, and was wearing a dark blue hoody, dark blue jeans, baseball cap and white trainers.

The last known sighting was from just before 7am on Monday, 9 June, on a pathway connecting Willow Bridge and Shakespeare Road, St Neots.
DI Emma Garwood, who is leading the searches, said: “Previous appeals have generated information from the public and we’re very grateful for the support we’ve received so far.

“One line of inquiry is that Darren could still be in the community and in need of help and support, so we’re keen to keep our appeal at the forefront of people’s minds.

“We grow more concerned the longer Darren is missing but we haven’t given up hope of finding him alive. If anyone thinks they may have seen Darren from the CCTV image we’ve released, which we believe to be him, please get in touch.”

Anyone who has seen him or who has information concerning his whereabouts should call Cambridgeshire Police on 101 quoting incident 83 of 9 June.
