Last week, we issued communications detailing our aims to tackle illegal e-vehicles in our community. We are pleased to see the community welcome our plans to conduct regular and targeted operations to seize and destroy illegal vehicles like e-scooters. However, we have received a considerable amount of feedback raising valid points around the lack of clarity on the type of e-bikes we will be targeting. We welcome your messages, and the opportunity to engage with you about a matter that we know has impacted our communities.

As detailed before, we are taking firm action against the illegal use of e-scooters and other e-vehicles in public places. Offenders risk prosecution, fines, driving disqualification, or imprisonment, and vehicles may be seized and destroyed if ownership or insurance cannot be proven. We know the positive impact of these activities will not be seen overnight; however, we will be taking action against those that choose not to abide by the law.
