923 - Watling

Our community policing teams are dedicated to proactively tackling issues that matter most to our communities and address the core root of a problem, finding a long term solution. Split across local hubs, as well as an airport community team and the Community Enforcement team, officers have a visible presence in our communities engaging with the local public and prioritising activity based on the needs of the local people.

Partnership working is the key to community policing success and teams work closely with other organisations to maintain good networks and monitor community needs, working together to fully understand a problem and tailor the response to get the best results.

Toddington

Anti-social behaviour incidents have increased in relation to a public House location in Toddington. Police are aware of the concerns and increase in reports and will be working in partnership with licensing at Central Bedfordshire council to reduce reports of this nature.

Issued 16 January 2026

We have been working in close partnership with Licensing, local councillors, and Central Bedfordshire Council to reduce issues linked to public houses and to support both residents and businesses affected by pub‑related reports.
As part of this work, any known repeat offenders are being dealt with robustly. Where appropriate, we are using our policing powers, including issuing Community Protection Notice Warnings and banning individuals from premises when necessary. This approach ensures that those who continue to cause issues are held accountable.
We are pleased to report that there have been no reported issues since August, reflecting the positive impact of our joint approach. Officers will continue to carry out regular patrols and take further action whenever required to ensure this progress continues.
If you have any information that may assist officers, please contact the Community Policing Team. We continue to work proactively with Licensing and Central Bedfordshire Council to keep residents safe and ensure that everyone can enjoy their time at local pubs without disruption.

Caddington- Speeding

Issued 16 January 2026

Speeding continues to be a concern for residents although this has significantly reduced in the past few months due to the hard work and dedication of your local Neighbourhood policing officers. Although officers have been exceptionally busy with other policing commitments, officers have worked hard to reduce speeding. We will continue to work hard with speed enforcement and local volunteers to tackle this on-going issue. If you are interested in volunteering to help reduce this area of concern then please contact your local policing team @ communitypolicingcentral@beds.police.uk
A polite reminder for motorists to keep to the speed limit, be observant, wear a seatbelt, make sure that your vehicle is in a road worthy condition and make sure that you have insurance. Please do not use a mobile phone whilst driving!
