955 - Whipsnade
Our community policing teams are dedicated to proactively tackling issues that matter most to our communities and address the core root of a problem, finding a long term solution. Split across local hubs, as well as an airport community team and the Community Enforcement team, officers have a visible presence in our communities engaging with the local public and prioritising activity based on the needs of the local people.
Partnership working is the key to community policing success and teams work closely with other organisations to maintain good networks and monitor community needs, working together to fully understand a problem and tailor the response to get the best results.

Slip End- Vehicle crime Issued 05 January 2026 |
We encourage members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity and not to leave valuables inside vehicles. We also advise car owners to hide keys and utilise car key signal blocking containers/holders so suspects cannot get into your vehicle. Utilise steering wheel locks if appropriate and make sure that during the winter months you do not leave you vehicle running and unattended when de-icing the vehicle. A lot of car thefts can be opportunistic. If you have any concerns or queries please contact your local community police officer. Actioned 05 January 2026 |

Speeding vehicles - Woodside Link - Houghton Regis - There is an increase in reports of organised car meets which are then causing numerous traffic and noise issues. Large groups of people congregate in their vehicle's to show of the vehicle's capability including speeding amongst other ASB issues. Issued 24 October 2025 |
We will obtain details of vehicle's involved and issue the necessary sanction and seize vehicles where the powers allow. This will be challenging as this will have to be dealt with slow time due to the volume of vehicles involved. CCTV will need to be collated & reviewed by officers. Contact will then be made with the vehicle owners and deal where powers allow. We have issued numerous section 59 warnings, which if breached vehicles can be seized by police. We have been working in partnership with Central Bedfordshire council CCTV team who have directed police to locations where cars are congregating and will provide us with the required CCTV to take further action against offenders. Actioned 02 January 2026 |

This includes issuing Community protection notice warnings and ban suspects where appropriate. Actioned 05 January 2026 |
