847 - Haynes

Our community policing teams are dedicated to proactively tackling issues that matter most to our communities and address the core root of a problem, finding a long term solution. Split across local hubs, as well as an airport community team and the Community Enforcement team, officers have a visible presence in our communities engaging with the local public and prioritising activity based on the needs of the local people.

Partnership working is the key to community policing success and teams work closely with other organisations to maintain good networks and monitor community needs, working together to fully understand a problem and tailor the response to get the best results.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Car Meets, Lyall Court, Flitwick

Regular unlicensed car meets are occurring at this location set up by specific organisers

Issued 21 January 2026

This PMP is still being progressed by the officers for Area 1.
A meeting was held on 17/12/25 in relation to the issues.
In attendance was Police, Council and a representative from each local business. As a result of the meeting it was established that the land where a gate was proposed was owned by the local businesses. They have all agreed to pay for a gate and have a keyholder for it. Council were happy with this. It was also suggested by police for the local businesses to have a whatsapp group for better communication and in case there are any issues with the gate. The local businesses have confirmed they are now in a whatsapp group so they can communicate better with each other. The gate is still in the process of being made prior to installation. There have been several patrols in the area and no reports of any car meets. A PSPO has gone to public consultation to prevent car meets in flitwick and this will close in 7 weeks time. The organiser of the car meets has also been issued a CPNW in order to combat the issues. This was devised by Police and issued by the council. This PMP has demonstrated a good use of joint working partnership utilising all available options. This PMP will remain in place until the gate has been installed and is in full use.
