Our community policing teams are dedicated to proactively tackling issues that matter most to our communities and address the core root of a problem, finding a long term solution. Split across local hubs, as well as an airport community team and the Community Enforcement team, officers have a visible presence in our communities engaging with the local public and prioritising activity based on the needs of the local people.
Partnership working is the key to community policing success and teams work closely with other organisations to maintain good networks and monitor community needs, working together to fully understand a problem and tailor the response to get the best results.

SEPTEMBER - During the month of September, proactive policing activity was carried out across the Leagrave and Limbury wards in response to community concerns. High-visibility patrols were conducted around the blocks of flats in Hockwell Ring following multiple reports of drug dealing and anti-social behaviour, resulting in the submission of four pieces of relevant intelligence. In Limbury, two individuals were arrested for being concerned in the supply of controlled substances, following stop and search interventions. These actions demonstrate our continued commitment to addressing local priorities and tackling crime within the community.

JUNE ACTION During the month of June I have conducted several stop searches in and around the Leagrave and Limbury area. Ultimately creating a deterrence and disruption in relation to organised criminal activity, I have also effected a stop search in relation to 3 members of a known organised criminal group, as a result an investigation linked to this criminal group was launched with multiple phone seizures. In respect to operation Belleville hi visibility patrols were conducted through MARSH ROAD LUTON, to deter, disrupt and apprehend those theft related offenders and provide community reassurance. Further hi visibility patrols were conducted around Leagrave and Limbury in line with information and intelligence suggesting high crime rate areas and area associated with ASB and drugs.

SEPTEMBER During the month of September, we have increased our focus on St Dominic’s Square due to a noticeable rise in shoplifting incidents within the area. In response, your local officers have begun working more closely with Luton Community Watch coordinators, holding regular meetings to explore collaborative solutions to this issue. Additionally, recent data from the local area has highlighted a concerning increase in cases related to Child Sexual Exploitation, which has now become one of our key priorities. We remain committed to tackling these challenges and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all members of the community.

SEPTEMBER - Your local officers have been conducting regular patrols around hotspot areas within the ward in an effort to tackle the ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour affecting the community. Recently, a property on Overstone Road was identified as a cannabis factory and has since been closed. This came to light following reports of a break-in, where individuals attempted to steal cannabis plants from the premises. As a result, over 180 plants were seized and destroyed, and two males were arrested by the Metropolitan Police for breaking and entering. Officers remain committed to addressing criminal activity and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents in the area.
AUGUST - During the month of August, targeted patrols were conducted at the following locations in response to ongoing community concerns:
Humberstone Road – monitored for nuisance vehicles and incidents of speeding. Supertyres and Dunstable Road – patrolled due to reports of drug-related activity. Travelodge Hotel, Halfway Avenue – attended regularly to address anti-social behaviour and suspected drug use. Challney Gardens – patrolled in response to concerns regarding drug-related activity.

SEPTEMBER - During the month of September, your local officers have successfully secured a three-month closure order for a property on Glenfield Road due to significant drug-related activity taking place at the address. In addition to enforcement work, officers have continued engaging with the community through events such as Coffee With A Cop at Morton’s Café, the Warm Hub event at Sundon Baptist Church, and a police surgery held at The Gospel Pentecostal Church. These events have provided valuable opportunities to hear directly from residents about the issues and concerns affecting the area, and to work together towards building a safer and stronger community.
AUGUST - Throughout the month of August, the Community Policing Team has conducted numerous patrols across the area, strategically timed to coincide with periods of heightened activity.
Two dedicated nights of action were carried out, during which stop and search powers were utilised. One of these searches resulted in a positive outcome.
In addition to enforcement activity, the team has prioritised community engagement. Officers have participated in regular “Coffee with a Cop” sessions and have maintained a consistent presence at monthly events hosted by the Baptist Church, fostering stronger relationships with local residents.

SEPTEMBER - Within the month of September, your community officers have carried out regular patrols across hotspot areas in Bramingham to address local concerns and promote public safety. Alongside these patrols, officers have actively engaged with residents through initiatives such as Coffee With A Cop at Costa Coffee and a regular crime prevention stand at Sainsbury’s, offering opportunities to hear directly from the community about the issues they are facing. More recently, your community officer has been working in partnership with Councillor Azizul to further strengthen efforts in making Bramingham a safer and more welcoming place for all residents.
AUGUST - During the month of August, your local Community Policing Team implemented a range of targeted tactics to address concerns regarding speeding in the area.
Following multiple reports from residents regarding vehicles being driven in an anti-social and dangerous manner, I have personally engaged with members of the community to gather further information. As a result, several vehicle registrations were identified and warning letters have since been issued to the registered keepers.
In addition, officers have conducted multiple patrols during key times identified by residents, with the aim of detecting and deterring speeding and other forms of anti-social driving.

12/06/25- Speed Watch carried out a session in the afternoon on WHITEHORSE VALE, by CICERO DR - 367 vehicles were recorded of which 5 were reported, 2 of these were in excess of 40mph with highest speed 53mph.
22/05/25- PCSO 7001 & 7372 - Residents meeting with EDGCOTT CLOSE residents, regular hi vis patrols are being carried out in known hotspot areas.
28/04/25-Speed Watch carried out a session on QUANTOCK RISE - overall 330 vehicles were recorded of which 4 were reported with top speed of 37mph.
25/04/25- The North and West Community Team were out carrying out a Speed Operation on QUANTOCK RISE & WHITEHORSE VALE -226 vehicles were recorded during the 3 hours of which 6 were reported, with a addition 6 warning letters sent to drivers of these 3 were at 40mph or more with a top speed of 43mph.1 Vehicle was seized under 165 of the Road Traffic Act due to no Insurance.
