931 - Chiltern

Our community policing teams are dedicated to proactively tackling issues that matter most to our communities and address the core root of a problem, finding a long term solution. Split across local hubs, as well as an airport community team and the Community Enforcement team, officers have a visible presence in our communities engaging with the local public and prioritising activity based on the needs of the local people.

Partnership working is the key to community policing success and teams work closely with other organisations to maintain good networks and monitor community needs, working together to fully understand a problem and tailor the response to get the best results.

Toddington

Police have noted a recent rise in anti‑social behaviour incidents linked to a public house in Toddington. We want to reassure the community that these concerns are taken seriously, and the increase in reports has been recognised.
Officers will be working closely with the Licensing Team at Central Bedfordshire Council to address the issues. This partnership approach will focus on:

Reducing incidents of this nature
Ensuring appropriate measures are in place with the premises
Providing a consistent and supportive response to the community
Promoting a safer environment for residents, staff, and visitors

We encourage anyone witnessing anti‑social behaviour to continue reporting incidents to police via 101, the online reporting portal, or 999 in an emergency. Community information plays an important role in helping us tackle the problem effectively.

Issued 16 January 2026

We have been working in close partnership with Licensing, local councillors, and Central Bedfordshire Council to address and reduce issues linked to public houses in the Toddington area. Our aim is to support both residents and local businesses affected by pub‑related reports and ensure that community concerns are dealt with promptly and effectively.
As part of this ongoing work, any known repeat offenders involved in disorder or anti‑social behaviour are being dealt with robustly. Where appropriate, officers have been making full use of policing powers, including issuing Community Protection Notice Warnings (CPNWs) and banning individuals from premises when necessary. This ensures that those causing repeated issues are held fully accountable for their behaviour.
We are pleased to report that there have been no reported issues since August, reflecting the positive impact of this joint approach. Officers will continue to carry out regular patrols, maintain visibility, and take further action whenever required to ensure this progress continues.
If you have any information that may assist officers, please contact the Community Policing Team. We remain committed to working proactively with Licensing and Central Bedfordshire Council to keep residents safe and ensure that everyone can enjoy their time in local pubs without disruption.

Caddington- Speeding

Issued 16 January 2026

Speeding continues to be a concern for residents although this has significantly reduced in the past few months due to the hard work and dedication of your local Neighbourhood policing officers. Although officers have been exceptionally busy with other policing commitments, officers have worked hard to reduce speeding. We will continue to work hard with speed enforcement and local volunteers to tackle this on-going issue. If you are interested in volunteering to help reduce this area of concern then please contact your local policing team @ communitypolicingcentral@beds.police.uk
A polite reminder for motorists to keep to the speed limit, be observant, wear a seatbelt, make sure that your vehicle is in a road worthy condition and make sure that you have insurance. Please do not use a mobile phone whilst driving!
